My throat is scratchy, have a cough, my bones ache, chills. Hope its not the flue had a flue shot but that doesn't cover all the strains. Gonna pick up some Emergence C on the way home that's the best C supplement Ive found, and many flavors. I hear Zinc can help, I don't know if I want to spend the money for a bottle of Zinc, Don't know nothing about it. The biggest drawback to working in a hospital, everybody here has something, your exposed to so much, I use to be very concerned with it and even added a couple cups of bleach to my bath water  I have to shake this before I go visit my brother the chemo killed his immune system.

You don't need to go visit him if you have flu. I had it back during Mid November.

I read where each year as many as 650,000 people die from respiratory illnesses related to influenza, most because they try to treat it themselves at home and wait too long to go to the doctor..... Unless a person has a death wish they should go to the doctor at the first sign of a bad cold or the flu during flu season and not end up pushin' up daises.

30 people have died here in Arkansas recently with the flu. Don't any of you guys be #31. Go to the doctor early, and if you go lateINSIST they check your blood for a bacterial infection because some doctors might assume you just have the flu because it's flu season and never check any farther. I've read it happens so insist on the simple test if it's not offered because death from the complications of flu can be fast acting and is a real possibility. So don't take any chances with your life during flu season no matter your age or how minimal you think the risk is.

Remember the recent story about the death of the young body builder? He was 21 and fit. He tried to push through the flu — and it killed him.

My brothers first wife, my best friend and school mate died from influenza when she was 37. My dad's grandmother died young during the influenza pandemic of 1918. 50 to a hundred million people died. 5% of the world's population. The 1918-1920 pandemic is responsible for dropping life expectancy 12 years for adults.
