I don't hunt from a stand I stalk. I hunt out in Wynona mostly and its all up and down. There are some food plots out there if you can find them. I can find them on google maps, thats one tip. Another is whenever I leave the truck I head uphill just in case I get lucky, dragging that deer back downhill sure is a lot easier than the other way around.

:hesaid: (part about planning ahead) Believe it or not, I seem to have forgotten that so many times, I would say about 80% or more it seems, even when considering stand placement, I still have pains in places from the oversight. I did have one stand for several years that was almost vertical from the truck, so getting one down wasn't that big of a deal, but when I left the truck of the morning it was nothing but Gym Shorts and T-Shirt and everything else was in my bag. I got dressed after cooling down and before climbing up in the stand. That would kill me now... :surp:

Homemade Mosquito Repellent

Combine in a 16 oz bottle:
15 drops lavender oil
3-4 Tbsp of vanilla extract
1/4 Cup lemon juice.
Fill bottle with water.
Shake

Anybody know of a different homemade repellent concoction?

I think I smell a French Whore.

Back on topic.

I have a piece of very light ribbon tied to my truck aerial. This gives me a good indication of wind direction in the parking lot first thing in the morning. It also reminds me to gently close the truck door.
