hi guys,

im new to this forum and new to hunting. i have hunted a few times on private land only and wish to take a crack at a public wma. not knowing the areas, is there a decent place to start where i wont find that many people (short of just picking a county road and heading off down it?)

Dont want to get into something i cant handle terrain wise. just hiking in and pitching a ground blind.

also, is it acceptable for me to leave it up? (or is it likely to get taken?)

last question. the season has already started. what is the least disruptive time for me to go and setup? (thinking a mid week lunchtime when things aren't moving much?

thanks in advance

:Welcome: to the forum. I do not partake in the sport myself but a lot of folks on this forum do. So somebody will have your answers. Even though I don't hunt, I do love to eat wild game when the opportunity presents itself..

If hunting public land or even private land. I would not leave anything of value. The only exception would be if I was hunting an afternoon and planed to return the very next morning. As the season goes on you will see less hunters. I would just get out and scout around and find you a place to hunt. Arkansas offers a lot of area to hunt public land.

ok thanks. i try to avoid the door crasher type thing. would rather see less deer AND less hunters rather than be on top of each other on opening week, so i hope it does thin out.

i was going to try hobbs as well. any experience there?

Check the regulations I was thinking that is a modern gun permit hunt but open to bow hunting. I know White Rock WMA has lots of land.
