I have been in Minnesota since last Thursday working at US bank stadium.
WOW, what an experience. I have lots of pics but kind of a pain right now to post some up.
Astro turf is not the same as last time I played a game on that stuff a few decades ago. Back then it was like concrete and would snap your ankle in a heartbeat. This stuff up here is softer than dirt and gives when you twist. Amazing.
This stadium on the inside is beautiful. Every single day there are people working cleaning and doing other crap when nothing is going on, just prepping. Lots of jobs generated here for this.
I have seen players come in here and give interviews and spend time hanging with school kids and today a big production with a kid in a wheelchair wearing a red shirt. Am sure that will be on tv this week. These dudes make tons of money for sure but I dont think this is part of the normal schedule. This stadium is right in the middle of this crap city so has to be a pain to get here just for this when they have more work to do at practice.
I am here getting ready for the superbowl for a customer demo. Is mind boggling the money being spent at this early stage going into that production. I bet there will be over 100 million dollars spent on different kinds of equipment for the superbowl from what I have seen so far.
My little piece which is really not that big a deal is a few hundred thousand for maybe 20 minutes of show. Crazy.

In conclusion, lots of low level jobs created from this stadium that are pretty stable jobs which is good. But damn, lots of money spent that could go to better causes.

Yeah, after a very good day today we were in celebration mode and I drank everyone under the table. Folks now days do not know how to drink. :poundfloor:

Minneapolis is a fine town and that's a real nice stadium. Lots going on with that stadium like you say, not just The Vikings playing there but this summer it will host the Summer X Games and it already has a lock on the NCAA Final Four in two years  Not to mention this years SuperBowl. And I think that's landing sight #1 when the aliens arrive in 2020.

I was there when it was just about completed a couple years ago. I agree that is a bad area. I saw two drug deals take place with in a block of there. Those two lanes that merge into one to access the main roads are a little scary for a boy from Yell County. Go Northeast of there and you are in fishing heaven. Rjet you going to be able to get some ice fishing while up the later?

Was really wanting to try the ice fishing and have a contact but dont think it is going to happen. Ice is not quite ready yet.
Hip and the aliens, I thought the same thing. At first glance that was the ugliest stadium I have ever seen. And then we figured it out. The stadium is actually a big viking ship.
Neighborhood is fine, a lot better than jerry world which is on the edge of barrio. I have to attend the game Sunday and do a dry run so stuck here until Monday and work is pretty much done. I think today we will check out that big mall, heard it is amazing.

The mall is ok. Park inside is neat but a little high for what it is. What you should do is go to the Best Western next to the mall. It has an Indian Western museum in it. It is really neat and no cost.
